Miss Omegle? So do we.
Omegle closed in November 2023, after 14 years. For a lot of us it was the place you went when you were bored, curious, or just wanted to talk to someone you'd never otherwise meet. That feeling didn't go anywhere. Kudos2.chat is our take on it, with a few things we always wished Omegle had.
Try it freeThe part we kept
You press Start and you're face to face with a stranger. Maybe they're on the other side of the world, maybe they're two towns over. If it clicks, you talk. If it doesn't, you press Next. No profile to fill out, no swiping, no algorithm deciding who you're allowed to meet.
It's free, it works in your browser, and it works on your phone.
The part we changed
๐Kudos
When someone makes your day, send them kudos. It's a small thank-you that sticks. Over time, kudos show who people really are.
๐ก๏ธReal moderation
There are rules, and someone enforces them. Report a person with one tap. Moderators review it, and people who break the rules are removed for good.
๐Adults only
Kudos2.chat is 18+. We check age at sign-up and again from time to time, and accounts that look underage are locked.
๐Nothing to hand over
Just a username and password. No email, no phone number, no socials. Your video goes straight to the other person and we don't record it.

Who it's for
- The night-in crowd. Nothing on TV, friends are busy, and you'd rather talk to a person than scroll.
- Language learners. Ten minutes with a real person beats an hour of flashcards.
- The curious. People who like hearing how life looks from somewhere else.
- Anyone who's a little lonely. It happens. Sometimes a friendly face and a good laugh is all it takes.
How to have a great first chat
- Say hi first. Most people are just as nervous as you.
- Sit facing a window or a lamp so they can actually see you.
- Ask where they are and what their day looked like. It works every time.
- Not clicking? Smile, say bye and press Next. No hard feelings.
- If they made you laugh, send kudos. It means more than you'd think.
Questions people ask
What happened to Omegle?
Omegle closed in November 2023 after 14 years. Its founder said running it had become too costly and too hard to keep safe.
Is Kudos2.chat free?
Yes. Video chat is free, and everyone gets free kudos to give away every day.
Do I need to sign up?
You pick a username and password. That's it. No email, no phone number, no social accounts. Just write your password down, because without an email we can't reset it.
Is it safe?
It's for adults 18 and over, every user agrees to clear rules, and a moderation team reviews reports and removes people who break them. Video goes directly between you and the person you're talking to and isn't recorded by us. As with any site where you meet strangers, keep personal details to yourself.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. It runs in your phone's web browser, so there's nothing to download.
